I had to learn to drive a stick if I wanted a car when I was 16.  I told myself it would also come in handy if I was ever trying to escape a mass murderer ala Scream.  I tried to teach some friends how in college.  It did not go so well…

  1. theotherjen answered: I know how. Not very good at it because I haven’t done it in like, ten years, but I could pull it off.
  2. watchingithappen answered: most all drivers ed cars are automatic so unless you learn on one that a parent or friend owns, I don’t know how one would have experience.

  5. jacquesofalltrades answered: Yes, there are a bunch of non-stick drivers in the area. I can drive stick quite well, though I’m not so great at ice skating…

  11. ohhleary answered: I had no way to learn, even though I wanted to. My family had automatics, I’ve only owned an automatic, and none of my friends drove stick.
